Wisconsin Avenue (MD 355) Safety and Resurfacing Project
The Maryland State Highway Administration (SHA) will begin resurfacing the one-mile stretch of Wisconsin Avenue between the DC line (Western Avenue) and Bradley Boulevard once the work on Old Georgetown Road is virtually complete, now estimated to be within the next week or so. The project will begin at the Bradley Boulevard end. Completion is scheduled for early next summer, weather permitting.
The project will involve grinding and resurface all lanes, patching the existing roadway, putting in new pavement markings, replacing curbs and gutters and upgrading existing sidewalks and ramps to meet American with Disabilities standards. Sidewalk access to one side of Wisconsin Avenue will be maintained at all times.
During the project, there will be both single-lane closures (Monday-Friday, 9 am-3 pm) and double-lane closures (Monday-Friday,10 pm-5 am).
