Chevy Chase at Home Celebrates a Second Successful Year
Upcoming activities from our friends at Chevy Chase at Home . . .
Please join us on December 2nd as we celebrate our second successful year serving our neighbors. This gala event will be held at the Chevy Chase Village Hall from 3 until 5 PM and will feature a very special guest, syndicated columnist JUDITH MARTIN (also known as Miss Manners®), who will speak on “The Civility Wars” at 3:30 PM. You won’t want to miss it! This is also an opportunity to learn more about our programs and benefits and to consider joining or renewing your membership. Space is limited, so call 301-657-3115 for reservations or register at our website at www.chevychaseathome.org.
On Tuesday, December 4, CC@ H’s Meet & Mingle will sponsor a program entitled “Eat Well! Live Well! Age Well” with Iona Senior Services nutritionist Rose Clifford. Healthy refreshments, prepared from recipes Rose has supplied, will be offered, and there will also be an Olive Oil tasting. 2 to 4 PM at the Chevy Chase Village Hall.
Brunch Bunch meets for coffee and conversation from 10 to 11:30 AM on Thursday, December 13, at the Olympia Coffee Shoppe, 7021 Brookville Road. Always lively, this is a good chance to meet some of your neighbors and share your interests.
And our final Meet & Mingle of the year, on December 18, will be a holiday party with tasty treats and Jerry Bernstein showing the very funny film, “Waking Ned Devine”. At the Chevy Chase Village Hall from 2 to 4 PM.
Volunteers Wanted! CC@ H seeks cheerful drivers, heavy lifters, tech wizards and others to assist neighbors in our six jurisdictions to age in place safely and serenely. Our next volunteer training session will be held January 24, 2013. For specifics you may call Joan Urban, chair of the Volunteer Services Committee since 2009, at 301-652-4743, or the CC@ H office at 301-657-3115, or visit us online at www.chevychaseathome.org.
