Street Sweeping Begins this Week
Starting this week, Montgomery County’s annual street sweeping program gets underway. To alert residents, bright yellow signs are posted in neighborhoods a few days before street sweeping begins. Residents are urged to find alternative parking while their streets are cleaned.
County officials expect the sweeping to remove about 2,000 tons of excess debris and abrasives that otherwise could be washed into county streams. It also helps to keep drainage systems clean.
For daily updates detailing which areas are scheduled for street sweeping, visit Highway Services’ website or call 311, the county’s customer service line, 7 am – 7 pm.
