KIDS
The MARYLAND SCIENCE CENTER presents SCIENCE UNSCRIPTED.  Tuesday, July 2, at 10:30 a.m.  Demonstrations from life science, physical science and chemistry.  Topics include air, liquid nitrogen, human body, chemical reactions and more.  For children ages 5 and up.
*MATTHEW PAULI –PIRATE COMEDY AND MAGIC SHOW.  Saturday, July 20, at 10:30 a.m.  A comical misadventure with a pirate who has lost his treasure.  Can a little magic help?  Kids five and up.
1,2,3 ANDRES (1, 2, 3).  Uno, Dos, Tres con Andres!  Tuesday, July 23, at 10:30 a.m.   An interactive children’s show that teaches Spanish language and Latin American culture.  Children sing, shake, and sound out rhythms while trying regional Latin dances.  Preschool, Toddler, All Ages.
*THE BUGS OF BLACKWOOD, with the Sciencetellers.  Saturday, July 27, at 10:30 a.m.  Benjamin is a bug and now he must be rescued!  Join us as we learn about the science of matter by telling the tale of The Bugs of Blackwood.  By using experiments with fire, gas, air pressure, water, chemicals, and much more, see if Benjamin’s friends can save him before all hope is squashed!  For kids 5 – 12.

*Wednesday, July 10, at 2:30 p.m., Non-fiction Book Group.  The group will discuss In the Garden of Beasts: Love, Terror and an American Family in Hitler’s Berlin by Erik Larson.
*Friday, July 19, at 10:30 a.m.,  Jefferson Café—The group will discuss “The Force”—how much military is enough–by Jill Lepore in the New Yorker, January 28, 2013.  Article available at the information desk.
*Wednesday, July 24 at 2:30 p.m., Fiction Book Group.  The group will discuss Old Filth by Jane Gardam.
