Planning Board to Vote on Transfer of Rock Creek Hills Park

On Thursday, July 11, the Montgomery County Planning Board will vote on the staff recommendation to approve the transfer of Rock Creek Hills Park in Kensington to Montgomery County. If it does, the county school system plans to build a new middle school there by August 2017 to alleviate projected overcrowding at Westland Middle School. Grade six students from Chevy Chase and North Chevy Chase elementary schools would be reassigned to the new school.

The issue is first on the planning board’s Thursday afternoon agenda, scheduled to begin at 1:30 pm at board headquarters (8787 Georgia Avenue, Silver Spring, MD 20910-3760).  For more information, call 301-495-4605.
