Sidewalk along Wisconsin Avenue’s “Green Mile”
The State Highway Administration (SHA) wants to build a sidewalk in Chevy Chase to connect the four bus stops on the northbound side of Wisconsin Avenue between Grafton Street and Bradley Lane, the “Green Mile.” SHA also plans to build three pedestrian crosswalks in that stretch of Wisconsin Avenue.
While many Chevy Chase residents and cyclists who use that route are in favor of a sidewalk there, others have expressed concern that it would would mean the loss of too many mature trees.
SHA officials will meet with local residents on Wednesday, February 19, to share the final project plans and discuss the construction schedule. The meeting begins at 7 pm at Chevy Chase Village Hall, 5906 Connecticut Avenue, Chevy Chase, MD.
