2014 RCA Board Elections
Four candidates are seeking election to RCA’s Board of Directors at tonight’s annual meeting. Incumbents seeking reelection include Fritz Hirst, Cathy Jones, and Gilda Zimmet. Jenny Dowling has also stepped up to seek election to the board. A statement of interest from each is below.
I moved to the neighborhood (Brennon Lane) with my husband Paul and my 5 year-old daughter in September of last year. We moved from Capitol Hill and are delighted to be in this beautiful neighborhood, surrounded by such an active and caring community.
I am currently a stay-at-home mother and I am invested in preserving the beauty and vitality of this special neighborhood. I am also a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who worked for many years as a therapist and social advocate in Baltimore City.
I have served on the board since 2008 and am currently completing my fourth year as board president. My primary goals focus on increasing RCA’s communication, visibility, and participation. We have advanced these goals by establishing an enhanced website, better, more frequent communications, and neighborhood programming. I am also leading the community welcome sign project. My wife and I are happily raising our three children in Rollingwood where we have lived for sixteen years.
I moved with my husband, Tom into the Dunlop Hills section of Rollingwood in 2002. I currently work in Arlington, VA as a Group Compliance Manager and Medicare Compliance Officer and have worked in the health insurance field for over 30 years. I have a Business degree and have served on the RCA Board since 2006 and held the office of Secretary and Vice President. I also serve on the Social and Membership committees.
I have served for the past three years on the RCA board and I have enjoyed learning about our community and working to strengthen the role of the RCA. I continue to practice law as an estate planning attorney and my husband and I enjoy living in Rollingwood.
