On Saturday, 04/01/17 at 2:00 PM Foreign Film Series: Join us for screenings of a variety of films from around the world. Film is typically shown on the first Saturday of each month. All movies have English subtitles. Screenings will begin at 2:00 p.m. This month’s film is Waltz with Bashir (Hebrew, Arabic, German and English; made in Israel). 
On Monday, 04/03/17 at 4:30 PM Read to a Dog: Chevy Chase Library is partnering with P.A.L. for a read to a dog program the first Monday of every month! Young readers will be able to share stories with a furry friend. Dogs will never judge or correct them, which allows them to really improve their reading skills. Drop in.

On Tuesday, 04/04, 11, 18 at 10:30 AM Toddler Time: Please join us for fun learning activities. We’ll read, sing, dance, explore and learn finger plays just right for two and three year olds.
On Thursday, 04/06 and 13 at 10:00 AM RSVP/AARP Tax Aide Program’: Free income tax preparation by trained volunteers for low-to-moderate income Montgomery County taxpayers — especially seniors 60 and over. Call 240-777-2577, Monday through Friday, 9:30 am – 3:30 pm to make an appointment starting January 30, 2017. Appointments can also be made online. Book by March 1, 2017 to guarantee an appointment. Appointments can be made by phone or online, but once an appointment is scheduled, changes or cancellations must be done by phone at 240-777-2577. Helping you is important to RSVP/AARP. If you cannot keep your appointment, please call to cancel so they can offer the appointment to someone else. Thank you!

On Friday, 04/07, 14, 21, 28 at 3:30 PM Lego Play: Drop in for an open session of Lego play on Fridays between 3:30 and 5:00 pm. Elementary age with an adult. We will provide the Legos and space, you provide the imagination. No registration needed….
On Wednesday, 04/12/17 at 2:00 PM Non-Fiction Book Group: Join the group to discuss Under the Banner of Heaven by Jon Krakauer. Copies of the book available one month before the session at the Information Desk. Registration is not required.
On Wednesday, 04/12/17 at 7:30 PM Great Books Group: This month’s selection is The Rubaiyat by Omar Khayyam. Join us for an intellectually stimulating exploration of some of the greatest fiction and non-fiction works published through the ages. Registration is not required. Attendees are responsible for obtaining the material to read in advance of the discussion.  Group meets the second Wednesday each month at 7:30 pm
On Thursday, 04/13, 20, 27 at 10:30 AM Play Date at the Library: Come to the Chevy Chase Library on Thursday mornings from 10:30 -11:30 am to meet new friends and have fun with Duplos, blocks, matching and sorting games and other STEM/STEAM activities. Preschool age. No registration needed.
On Thursday, 04/13/17 at 7:00 PM Pajama Story Time: Please join us from 7:00-7:30pm for fun learning activities. We’ll read, sing, dance, explore and learn finger plays for the whole family. No registration needed.
On Saturday, 04/15/17 at 10:30 AM Saturday Family Storytime: Please join us from for fun learning activities. We’ll read, sing, dance, explore and learn finger plays for the whole family. No registration needed. This is a repeat of the Thursday evening program.
On Friday, 04/21/17 at 10:30 AM Jefferson Café: This month’s readings will be Life on a US Navy Submarine by Jeremy Bender; Business Insider, 6 January 2016 and America’s New Aircraft Carriers by Dave Majumdar; The National Interest, 7 April 2015. We hope everyone will feel comfortable participating. The group is fairly small so that everyone can see and hear everyone else while seated around a table. Copies of the articles to be discussed will be available without charge on the holds shelf at the library.
On Tuesday, 04/25/17 at 10:30 AM Bilingual Storytime with Senora Lupe Marks: Please join us for a bilingual (Spanish/English) storytime just right for toddlers and preschoolers. No registration needed. 
On Tuesday, 04/25/17 at 11:00 AM El Dia De Los Ninos Craft:  Celebrate Children’s Day (El día de los niños) at Chevy Chase library by making a fun craft after our bilingual storytime with Sra Lupe(at 10:30am)
On Wednesday, 04/26/17 at 2:00 PM Fiction Memoir and Biography Book Group: Join the group to discuss Someone by Alice McDermott. Copies of the book are made available one month before the session, at the Information Desk. Registration is not required.
