Board of Directors

 

The Board of Directors is the day-to-day governing body of the Rollingwood Citizens Association. Board members serve three-year terms. Approximately one-third of the board is elected each spring by the general membership at RCA’s annual meeting.  All dues-paying RCA members are eligible to run for the Board. Officers are elected to executive positions by the Board each year. The Board meets monthly. If you would like to attend a board meeting please contact us.

Jenny Dowling

Jenny Dowling has lived in Rollingwood since 2013.  Though currently a stay-at-home mother, Jenny is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, who worked for many years as a therapist and social advocate in Baltimore City. She volunteers locally at Chevy Chase Elementary School and the Manna Food Center. She is delighted to reside in the neighborhood and is invested in preserving and enhancing the beauty, vitality and social connectedness of the Rollingwood Community. (Term through May 2020)

David Putnam

David Putnam has lived with his wife, Shirley, on Pomander Lane since 1995. He has been on the RCA Board since 1996 and has served as Treasurer for many of those years. Coming to Chevy Chase from 16 years in small town Stowe, VT, David recognizes the value of local community. It is all too easy in our hectic suburban lives to not know our neighbors. David believes RCA provides the primary vehicle in the Rollingwood area for neighbors to connect, join together in activities, and build a sense of small town community. David’s background includes law and finance. (Term through May 2022)

Mike hottel

Mike Hottel has lived in Rollingwood since 2010 and has been a member of the Board for 3 years.  He is a CPA and is a partner in a national accounting firm.  Mike and his wife Lauren have three children, attending Chevy Chase Elementary, Rosemary Hills Primary and the Outdoor Nursery School.  Mike coaches a number of his children’s sports team and is very focused on maintaining a great community for his neighbors and family. (Term through May 2021)

Ganon Rich

Ganon Rich and his wife moved to Lenhart Street in 2008. Ganon has been on the RCA board since 2009.  He grew up in Kensington, MD and attended Westland Junior HS and Bethesda Chevy Chase HS.  Ganon and his wife Karin have three children in the MCPS system.  He has been in commercial real estate in Washington, DC for over 20 years and given Ganon’s deep roots in the area and community, he’s committed to maintaining all the attributes that attracted his family to this wonderful area and neighborhood.  Ganon has been the RCA representative overseeing the Chevy Chase Lake Redevelopment through membership with the Connecticut Avenue Corridor Committee as well as the RCA representative involved with the Bethesda Redevelopment Plan through the Coalition of Bethesda Area Residents.  Additionally, Ganon enjoys coaching his kids’ sports teams.  He is committed to making Rollingwood the best community for his family and neighbors.   (Term through May 2021)

Lydia Logan

Lydia Logan is the Executive Director of the Verizon Innovative Learning Schools initiative, a program providing technology, internet access and professional development to over 150 select middle schools around the nation. Lydia was born and raised in Washington, DC near Rollingwood in the Colonial Village neighborhood. After graduating from National Cathedral School, she attended the University of Pennsylvania where she eared a B.A. in English Literature. Following graduation, Lydia embarked on a career in non-profit management, education philanthropy and education policy. She has held executive leadership positions at regional and national foundations and national education organizations. Throughout her career, Lydia has been committed to serving the Washington, Maryland and Virginia region. She was a member of Leadership Greater Washington’s class of 2005 and has served on the boards of the Washington Regional Association of Grantmakers and Communities in Schools.  She and her husband, Scott moved to Rollingwood in 2013 and live on Greenvale Road with their son and rescue dog, Collins.  (Term through May 2019)

 

Judy O’Grady

Judy O’Grady has lived in the Washington area since graduating from college and moved to Rollingwood in 2013 with her husband and two children.  She holds an undergraduate degree from the University of Pennsylvania and a J.D. from the University of Maryland. Judy is an attorney at Pepper Hamilton where she represents pharmaceutical and medical device manufacturers in products liability actions and counsels clients regarding compliance with FDA regulations, the Medicare Secondary Payer Act, and healthcare laws. Judy has volunteered with the National Association of the Deaf Law Center and DC public schools.  She has also represented pro bono clients in a variety of matters, including family, immigration, housing, and criminal matters.  Judy has served on RCA’s Halloween party planning committee.  She and her family love living in Rollingwood and she enjoys the opportunity to serve the RCA community. Phil Sturm

Phil Sturm was born in October 1957 in Brooklyn under the new Astrological sign of Sputnik.  His family moved to Chevy Chase DC in 1963.  He is a proud graduate of the D.C. public schools and the University of Wisconsin-Madison where he received his Bachelors and Masters degrees.  He, his wife Terry and three daughters – Alexis, Becca and Carly moved to the idyllic Cul de Sac on Rocton Court in 1999 and Phil has been serving on the Board of the Rollingwood Citizen’s Association as the Social Events coordinator since 2008.

Phil is a Realtor for over 25 years and has been with Evers & Co. Real Estate for over 15 years.  When he is not selling homes, Phil enjoys spending time with family, friends and neighbors, travelling, sailing, whitewater canoeing and is an avid skateboarder.  He is hard at work planning the next neighborhood picnic and hopes that you will please attend with a big smile and a big appetite. (Term through May 2019)

 

Lionette Carty

Lionette Carty, her husband and their two children moved to the Rollingwood neighborhood in 2014 from Fort Lauderdale, FL. She’s originally from Haiti and has lived in south Florida and the Washington DC metro area since she immigrated to the United States. Lionette has held various volunteer leadership roles including vice president of the PTA board at Bayview Elementary in Fort Lauderdale, FL, chair of the grand opening ceremony of Silver Creek Middle School plus VIP reception for the school board members, county and state representatives. She also co-chaired the Chevy Chase Elementary School Fall Festival for two years. Her career background is in convention and exposition planning. Her dedication to volunteering is fueled by her passion for learning new things and the strength in community working together.

 
 

LESLIE MILANO

Leslie Milano has lived in Rollingwood since 2015 with her husband, Glenn, children Vivienne and George, and dog Zoey. She is the CEO of a public health consulting firm focused on infection prevention and control where she oversees 30 staff and 350 consultants. 

Leslie has been actively involved in Montgomery County for years and currently serves as the Precinct Chair for the Rollingwood voting precinct. Previously, she served as a Commissioner on the Montgomery County Human Rights Commission. She is a former president of the Montgomery County Women's Democratic Club, a former board member of Committee for Montgomery, and a former president of the Chevy Chase Elementary School PTA.  She loves living in Rollingwood and enjoys creating opportunities to build community. 

 
 

SUE FARON

Sue Faron and her husband, Bob, moved from McLean to Rollingwood during the pandemic, delighted to have found single level living in a location closer to their children and grandchildren.  Bob passed away in December of 2021 so Sue is now happy to give some of her free time to her neighborhood. Sue graduated from GMU with a degree in Elementary Education and taught in the FCPS schools before starting her own advertising company, teaching herself HTML, database management and graphic design. She served as Director of International Sales for RosettaStone.com. She drew heavily upon her varied experiences and expertise when she began her consulting career with Salesforce.com with a focus on Economic Development organizations. Sue retired in 2017 as she became the primary caregiver for her husband. She recently adopted a chocolate labradoodle puppy who enjoys long walks with Sue in our beautiful neighborhood.
